Mexico
Government
The Mexican government is a liberal democracy with a regime based on the United States Constitution. The government runs on a federalist system, but it is also highly centralized; the rest of the country is dependent on Mexico City, which is the social, political, economic, and educational hub of Mexico. However, in recent years, the Mexican government has undergone a process of devolution – in the late twentieth century, the government decentralized the education and healthcare systems to relieve the financial pressure on the federal government. Mexico's proximity to and economic reliance on the US has crippled its autonomy, but the government itself is seen as legitimate.
Economy
Mexico has a mixed economy. Some parts of its economy is directed by the state, while other parts are publicly owned.
